III. RECRUITMENT
INITIATIVES
Established Internship
Program in 2007 Spring Semester and in 2007 Fall Semester
- Established an Internship Program in connection with the City
of Ville Platte by which a local student intern worked at the
stations 2 hours each weekday during the 2007 Spring semester
and another local student intern during the 2007 Fall semester.
Provided EEO
Training for Management
Level Personnel - Required Station Manager to devote 2
workdays for his review of FCC rules and policies, and related
commentary and other training materials provided to him, about
preventing discrimination and methods of ensuring equal
employment opportunity.
Participated
in Job Fair (2/22/07):
- KVPI's General Manager participated on behalf of the stations
in a Job Fair at T.H. Harris Technical School sponsored by the
local Chamber of Commerce. He conducted a live remote,
spoke with attendees and distributed applications to all who
were interested.
Evangeline
Parish Career Day (11/16/07):
- KVPI's Program Manager participated on behalf of the stations
at a Career Day attended by High School Juniors and Seniors from
throughout the Parish/County. He conducted a live remote,
spoke with students and distributed applications to all who were
interested.
Participated
in Scholarship Program:
- Participated in scholarship program of Louisiana Association
of Broadcasters designed to assist students interested in
pursuing a career in broadcasting. Made numerous local
announcements over the air of existence of scholarship and
availability of scholarship applications at the studios of KVPI
and distributed a number of scholarship applications to local
students who expressed interest.
